    We reinforce your 2-year-old’s natural desire to explore, turning every moment into an opportunity for learning and encouragement. Our program is designed to nurture your child’s growing individuality through days filled with interactive learning and group activities.

    Music, stories, outdoor play, and learning simplicities envelop much of the day. Our teachers are dedicated in helping each child develop these skills through a trusting and loving relationship.

    Classroom is set up with the following centers to allow for independent exploration and play:

    Area Goals and Objectives
    Language Arts & Literacy Growing your child’s vocabulary and comprehension skills
    1. Use a growing number of words to express needs and ideas, and learn the difference between similar-sounding words with rhyming games
    2. Ask and answer simple questions about stories in books to help them understand that drawing and writing are some of the ways to communicate
    Cognitive Development –
    Learn about the world
    1. Complete simple two-step tasks like finding and stacking red blocks when asked to build a red tower
    2. Start following rules independently, like going to the sink to wash hands
    3. Stay focused for several minutes while attending to an activity
    4. Think creatively about new ways to play with a toy
    Social/Emotional Development –
    Learn about self and others
    1. Interact with new people and feel comfortable playing near them
    2. Share with other children and take turns
    3. Build an appreciation for diversity by seeing and talking about how people are the same and how they are different
    4. Complete activities with confidence and look for new challenges, like putting on shoes and trying to tie them
    Mathematics & Science
    Learn about moving
    1. Start to count, know numbers and basic shapes
    2. Explore simple addition and subtraction using songs
    3. Build science knowledge, including the difference between day and night and different types of weather
    4. Understand basic social studies, like people’s roles within the community
    Fine & Gross Motor Skills
    1. Improve running skills and start to jump and hop
    2. Understand and follow basic health and safety routines
    3. Show increased control of hands and fingers
    4. Begin to help make food like washing fruit and mixing and pouring ingredients
